you are definitely a laos lover. i like geography and stuff but this site didn't exactly grab me. thanks for sharing, though! i love that you're a laos lover. i learn lots of laos stuff from you. keep it up.
Interesting...there seems to be a lot of growth and inflation is more in check, yet more people are living on less. Perhaps the gap between rich and poor is growing. That would explain some of the stagnation in some of the trends such as literacy, underweight children, and number of physicians. To add to the growing income gaps, there seems to be increased corruption as well.
yes erik. i am always amazed to see large concrete westernized "mansions" being built next to the traditional stilted houses - without western windows, doors and walls...
but it's a small few with that kind of money, and very few in the middle.
